Half A World Away

D and E-1

The sun winks at me through the trees
My daughter’s laughter drowns out the bird’s song
I think of you, my sister, playing with your daughter too
It seems like it’s been too long

Half a world away
But still close in my mind
Our lives have led down different paths
A common one we cannot find

But, dear sister, although far away
And for awhile out of sight
Know that I wait with baited breath
For sisters and cousins to re-unite.

Hi, I'm Kathryn. I love to write. These days when I'm not tapping away on my keyboard or indulging in social media, you can find me trying to perfect my gluten-free baking, dancing around the lounge with my children or engrossed in a book.
