In a time before email, now that’s showing my age!
We started a letter with ‘Dear’ and it was ‘Yours sincerely’ at the bottom of the page.
It was a time of formalites, which reflected in our writing
One way to do things – a bit rigid and not exciting!
But I still prefer this formal approach for a covering letter or one of complaint
Leaving the ‘Hi’ and ‘Cheers’ for my family and my mates.
It’s great we have the option, thanks to the emergence of email
Now we can choose our tone and not have to rely on the snail!
